Hojicha is a bancha tea that was roasted on a bed of charcoal, in a manner similar to roasting coffee. A method having its origins in the 1920s in Kyoto. Hojicha tea is basically a low quality tea, but this technique has given this Japanese green tea a superior taste quality. Thanks to its low caffeine content, this tea is perfect to accompany you in the evening. It goes particularly well with fish. Also, drinking hojicha tea after a meal helps digestion.
